“Ride your motorcycle more.”
That’s the four-word message initiative Ride Your Motorcycle Week is spreading to all dirt bikers, adventure tourers, scooter lovers, track racers, two-wheel commuters and every rider in between.
Starting next week on November 28thand running to the 4th of December, the sixth annual Ride Your Motorcycle Week event has come to signify the start of summer riding season.
Ride Your Motorcycle Week is a calendar reminder for motorcycle owners to get their bikes ready to ride, and start a national conversation about why riding is the best way to get from A to B.
Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) Chief Executive Tony Weber said the yearly campaign was simply about getting riders on their bikes.
“Riding is more than recreation. It is a part of Australian culture that deserves more recognition. The benefits are massive. Riding can improve mental health, ease congestion, make parking a breeze, create a lifestyle, provide a community, even offer COVID safe transportation,” he said.
“But, more than all those things, it is the most fun, exciting way to travel…
“Our goal is to show non-riders what they are missing. We want recreational riders commuting, commuting riders planning longer rides and critically we want to see lapsed riders getting their bikes tuned and back on the road.”
The promotion will see riders offered prizes for their riding exploits throughout the week, while broadcasting the benefits of riding as loudly as possible.
Ride Your Motorcycle Week has also partnered with Motorcycling Australia as a sponsor of the Australian Superbike Championship finale at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia.
