The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has elected GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mike Devereux, as its new President.
Mr Devereux replaces Alan Batey who stepped down as Holden Chairman and MD and FCAI President to take up a senior position with General Motors in the United States.
“I am humbled to be elected to represent the Australian automotive industry as President of the FCAI,” Mr Devereux said.
“My time in Australia has been brief but I am overwhelmed by the talent and capability of the local industry,” he said.
“I am committed to representing the entire industry as we work with government to improve vehicle safety and to continue to meet the challenge of improving environmental performance,” Mr Devereux said.
Prior to arriving in Australia, Mike Devereux was President and Managing Director of GM Middle East Operations.
Mr Devereux’s career in the automotive industry has spanned 26 years and includes time in Canada, the United States and the Middle East.
