The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) applauds the Queensland Government’s new Community Road Safety Grants program, the Motorcycle Ride to Zero Grants. This initiative signifies a pivotal step in the ‘Ride to Zero’ strategy, championing improved road safety.
For many Australians, especially Queenslanders, riding motorcycle is not just a mode of transport but a way of life. To ensure the enjoyment of this activity while prioritising safety, riders must possess safe riding skills and on-road behaviours. This program offers support to local organisations, including motorcycle clubs and groups, by subsidising participant fees for post-licence training courses, is a step in the right direction in reducing accidents on Queensland roads.
FCAI Chief Executive Tony Weber said the FCAI supports the Queensland Government’s commitment to road safety and rider education, and firmly believes that this initiative is a significant and worthwhile investment.
“This initiative enhances road safety by equipping riders with improved motorcycle skills and rider knowledge. Whether for experienced riders looking to refine their skills or those returning to their motorcycles after a hiatus, these training courses play a pivotal role in enhancing on-road behaviours.
“We strongly support the Queensland Government’s commitment to road safety and rider education, and believe this initiative is a significant and worthwhile investment,” Mr Weber said.
