Denso Australia Group won the FCAI’s Supplier of the Year Award for 2007 at a dinner held at Zinc at Federation Square, Melbourne on 21 November. The event was hosted by the FCAI’s President, Mr John Conomos AO and Guest of Honour was the Honourable Theo Theophanous, Minister for Industry and Trade in Victoria. In commenting on the Award, the Minister said In the face of significant challenges – including rising fuel costs, changing consumer trends and a strong Australia dollar – the local automotive industry remains focused, increasingly competitive and innovate .
The coveted award was presented by Mr Conomos AO to the Managing Director of Denso Australia Group, Mr Neil Kitamiya. Mr Conomos also presented each of the five finalists with a certificate of recognition of their achievements.
Denso Australia Group design and supply local car makers with a wide range of components including air conditioners, engine intake systems and instrument clusters.

Judging
The Purchasing and Supply Directors from the four local vehicle manufacturers; Ford, GM Holden, Mitsubishi and Toyota have the task of judging nominees for Supplier of the Year on the basis of performance in terms of product development, quality, timely delivery, competitive pricing, project management and customer service.
